The lunch at the Training Table was small, but satisfying. I had the chili cheese dog. MMmm...
OK, I promised a lunch in Utah county for this week. Kurskorahn suggested Tuesday or Thursday. I'm thinking Thursday would be better, to give us enough time to arrive at consensus.
I was also contemplating Wallaby's in Lindon. I love that place. I don't know how the rest of you UC people feel about that though. Is it too far North? Also, I heard they had closed and reopened, so now I'm nervous. If someone could drive by there and see if they are still open, that would be cool.
Or we could come up with another idea, but I don't know how it would be better than pulled pork and cheesy garlic potatoes.
What say you all?

Spring Break Lunch
Lunch today was just about perfect. Lets do it again.
Like this week, I would like to throw out some ideas, hear lots of comments and make a final decision a day or two before lunch.
Since Kurskorahn mentioned next Friday (the 28th), let's go with that. Until someone comes up with a better idea, I'll suggest the Training Table out by the E Center.
A few thoughts about future meetings.
I'd like to make the lunches frequent enough so that we won't feel so awful if we miss one. If that happens, then I'm guessing we will average about 8 people at each lunch, which makes it a LOT easier to find a venue that is cheap and in many cases doesn't require reservations. We can do a bigger party when someone we all know and love comes to town. (I'm looking at you, Dathon)
I'm not anxious to expand to dinners or to Davis or Utah county, since I think that is territory that is already covered by the CALM folks. Nevertheless, Dianne tends to disagree, so I suppose we could consider it.
I used a whole lot of first person in the previous paragraph. Tell me what you think. About next week, and the weeks after that.

Quick turnaround lunch
As a quick introduction to what I'm up to here, I'll just say that I intend to build a meeting place where NOMs in the Salt Lake area can plan and discuss regular meetings. I've chosen lunches, because there are a great number of NOMs who can get away for lunch without having to explain to spouses. Eventually I would like to facilitate dinners as well, and expand north and south, but for today, we will start with having a regular lunch in Salt Lake.
I'll start by suggesting a place and time, and all of you people can recommend changes in the comments section. If things don't work out, don't worry. In the last 5 months, we've met at least 5 times and managed to collect 10-15 people each time. There will be plenty of opportunities for us all to meet.
Let's get started.
I'd like to meet in the south end of the valley this week. I'm thinking of the restaurants at Southtowne. How about Village Inn, or T.G.I. Fridays, or maybe La Frontera or The Training Table across the street. Noon seems to work out most of the time, but if you would like to meet a little earlier or later, speak up.
Now it's your turn, folks. I'm having lunch at Southtowne on Thursday, with you or without you.
