Quick turnaround lunch

As a quick introduction to what I'm up to here, I'll just say that I intend to build a meeting place where NOMs in the Salt Lake area can plan and discuss regular meetings. I've chosen lunches, because there are a great number of NOMs who can get away for lunch without having to explain to spouses. Eventually I would like to facilitate dinners as well, and expand north and south, but for today, we will start with having a regular lunch in Salt Lake.

I'll start by suggesting a place and time, and all of you people can recommend changes in the comments section. If things don't work out, don't worry. In the last 5 months, we've met at least 5 times and managed to collect 10-15 people each time. There will be plenty of opportunities for us all to meet.

Let's get started.

I'd like to meet in the south end of the valley this week. I'm thinking of the restaurants at Southtowne. How about Village Inn, or T.G.I. Fridays, or maybe La Frontera or The Training Table across the street. Noon seems to work out most of the time, but if you would like to meet a little earlier or later, speak up.

Now it's your turn, folks. I'm having lunch at Southtowne on Thursday, with you or without you.

Great idea Nom! While I probably won't be able to make it all the time, it'll be nice to know where and when things are happening.

I can make it Thursday at noon. Which restaurant? Village Inn?

Some blogs send out emails when something is posted (in case I forget to check, it comes to me). Can this blog do that?

Nom, I believe we have gone over this before... I can't make noon, however, there is a better chance I can make 1pm. Can we push the lunching back an hour?

Dianne,
Froggie suggested Village Inn. I'm leaning towards La Frontera. We need some tie-breaking opinions. I'll make a definitive choice tomorrow, so check back.
I looked into the mail thing. There is a way to do ONE email address, and the software suggests that you create a google group. If CALM has a mail reflector, perhaps I could use that. Otherwise, you could always use an RSS feeder that sends emails. You might prefer that, since you could read all your blogs that way.

SG,
I'm hoping that these lunches become so common that we can play around with times and locations a lot, to suit everyone's tastes. This week, I want to keep it more universal, because of the short notice.

Hi Nom,

Doesn't matter to me, I haven't been to La Frontera for a while and it probably would give us more privacy than Village Inn. But we don't want Amanda to miss us, should we shoot for a time of 1:00 pm?

No can do this week friends! Sorry ~ Realistically I'm probably only good for about once a month on the South end of Salt Lake Valley.

THANKS for doing this NOM.

Good Times!K8

so, just to make this confusing, is this only for "NOMs" per se? can complete ex-mos tag along? :)

this is a wonderful idea, BTW. i'm always frustrated that CALM has so few events in SLC. we don't have a car so it's hard to attend the other meetings/activities so far away.

assuming people like me are welcome. i vote for vertical diner, on occasion, for those of us who pretty much can't eat anything at the places you listed. :)

Lunch with NOMs sounds like fun. I'm going to try to make it, coming up from Utah County. So, to confirm, that's La Frontera @ noon?

Alright Folks,
Let's wrap this one up.

Tomorrow, Thursday the 20th at noon at La Frontera. 61 W. 10600 South

It sounds like a lot of us have already met, but in case you don't recognize us, we will be under 'Chris'. And I'll keep an eye out for confused people with a dark countenance.

Looks like we have about 8 of us coming. Chandelle, you are always welcome. Dave, you too.

See you tamale.

(See what I did there. I made a pun about mexican food. Great, huh? )

Can't this week. Next Friday (the 28th) looks promising for me. Or Wednesday night dinner?
